A once in a generation voice who was definitely an inspiration for me to do what i do. Talk about being heartbroken, man thats an understatement..WE LOVE YOU WHITNEY!!! and you will forever be missed..
Celebrate my FAVS bday..weLL i dont mind if I do.
So heres the scene, LAX TO JFK..Courtesy fo Virgin America. 11:40PM flight, get there, Im 16 lbs over weight.. 66.6lbs YIKES! REASON: Im celebrating a birthday, and doing a million shows. :-) So anywho, I land at 7:30am I get to the Hotel almost 2 hours Later..
As most of you know Im a total INSOMNIAC...This particular day all that lack of sleep was out the window because I was jet lagged like CRAZY..mos def slept all day. Hence the APB put out on me from my managers via twitter. I came in a week before my shows started to spend time with my family and celebrate my cousins 30th birthday, this day was our drumroll please" Dinner party in New York City" thats what we titled it and thats wat it will remain, LOL.
The dinner was set for 8pm, at "Valbella" in the Meat Packing District FLY was the dress code, and I must say we were a pretty amazing bunch. Most diverse group ever, literally from billionaires..no I sat across from a billionaire, to a photographer who had a long standing friendship with Basquiat, to Fashion stylists, Tops Sports Agents, Jewelry Designers, Models, Stella McCartney store owners, and so on and so forth. Needless to say an electic bunch such as this can either be ridiculously uptight or extremely wild and CRAY!!! a video i will post soon will show that we were Cray!! We played "Niggas in Paris" on repeat followed up by "Aint No Fun if the homies Cant Have NONE" and we mos def rapped "Im Kurupt hoe youll never be my only one..TRICK A$$ B*TCH!!!" LOUD AF!!! In this upscale restuarant we mos def TURNED that place OUT! The food was amazing, the people were extraordinary, and the time will be one to remember..BUT remember this is only DAY ONE. :-)
